Tea White Glen

Tea White’s flagship kiosk reimagines tea culture through the quiet strategy and aesthetic order of the classic Chinese game GO. Just as players compete to conquer the board with focus and finesse, the brand sets out to win over hearts through the art of tea-making—expressed in both flavour and form.

Located at The Glen Shopping Centre, this corner tenancy presented unique spatial constraints with an irregular lease line.

The material palette borrows from the GO board itself—warm amber tiles and cylindrical forms evoke roasted tea leaves and ancient boards, while black and white accents recall the game’s signature round pieces. Polished acrylic countertops, inspired by porcelain teacups, introduce lightness and tactility, bringing a crisp counterpoint to the grounded base.

Functionally, the kiosk is designed as much for performance as for production. The elongated counter becomes a stage for the tea-making ritual, inviting patrons to engage with the process—elevated both literally and experientially by a subtly raised floor platform that celebrates the craft behind every cup.

Though modest in scale, Tea White challenges conventional kiosk design. The kiosk’s architectural composition—defined by curving forms and layered materiality—suggests permanence and purpose, moving beyond the temporality often associated with mall retail. A concealed lighting scheme highlights the tactile surfaces, revealing a richness in tone and depth that belies the simplicity of the materials.

Through a refined interplay of cultural narrative and modern execution, Tea White at The Glen redefines what a contemporary tea kiosk can be: thoughtful, evocative, and immersive. Rooted in tradition but interpreted through a distinctly modern lens, the space offers more than tea—it offers a moment of pause, connection, and design-driven storytelling.
